I seldom get cabin fever during the winter. Maybe because I’m a homebody at heart, I truly enjoy curling up by a fire, finding a good book, and, of course, tackling a home project or two! The wintry months give me a good excuse to go inside, quite literally, and finish my “to do” list that I conveniently ignored during the other seasons that had enticed me outside.

More like cabin de-cluttering, my projects usually have an organizational theme to them, from cleaning out closets to purging stuff in my garage to — gasp! — downsizing my expansive book collection. Consequently, I gravitate toward furniture that accommodates my domestic Franklin Covey tendencies...which is where Ty Pennington comes in. The popular television celebrity and designer/carpenter has recently created a furniture line to meet the needs of our busy lives and homes. So, of course, I had to interview him to learn all about his latest designs and projects! It gives me great pleasure to share with you my interview with Ty who is just as charismatic and gracious as he is on TV.

Speaking of gracious, I think you’ll enjoy every page of this issue which is not only dedicated to a renewal of all things home, but also celebrates a renewal of the heart. You’ll enjoy reading about a special group of friends who came together to bring a girlfriend’s home to life while another Ocala couple returned home after a much-too-long hiatus only to find that you really can come home again. Also, Pam Cunningham has done it again in finding brilliant pieces for the latest Ocala trends in home decor. Now, I need to find a place where they fit in my home…so much for downsizing!
